Gin & Juice

Gin & Juice (“Ginny”), a 2000 mare out of Qtrapastree x Audio, has taken the Eventing world by storm since she began her international career. A full sister to the gelding “Five O’Clock Somewhere”, this amazing, athletic and quirky mare has wowed fans and judges alike on two continents. Among her many career highlights includes being a member of the World Equestrian Games, Canadian Silver medal winning team.

Ginny loves her eventing job, and would be happiest if she could jump a 4 star cross country course every day! The reason for the dressage portion of Eventing has Ginny stumped, but when she can focus properly, she is a force to be reckoned with.

2012 was a very busy year for Ginny and her rider Hawley Bennett. In addition to flying across the pond for the Olympic Games, her first foal was born via surrogate, on Rolex Cross Country day. Hawley and Ginny kicked things off in 2013 winning three shows in a row, including the CIC3* at Galway Downs before heading to Rolex where they finished in 7th place!

Catch A Star (“Hoku” star in Japanese) a 2000 Holsteiner mare (Star of History x Caro) bred by Kingsway Farm, has captured the hearts of both the young ladies who have owned her. Purchased in 2005 by Rachel Dwyer, she & Rachel catapulted to the upper levels. Their meteoric climb culminated at 2009 at the North American Young Riders Championships where the Area VI team won the Gold medal. Says Rachel, “Hoku is by far the best horse I have ever owned.”

In 2010, Hoku caught the eye of Caitlin Silliman, who was looking for “the” horse that might take help her to achieve her eventing goals. It was “love at first sight” according to Caitlin, a talented young equestrian with an eye for an extremely talented horse.

Hoku was in a tragic barn fire in the summer of 2011, that almost took her life and left her with career threatening burns. However, this tough mare pulled through with love and care from Caitlin. Much to the delight of the entire Eventing world, the pair placed second at the Jersey Fresh CCI ** in 2012 (where the KingsWay Farm bred Five O’Clock Somewhere placed fourth, both horses were pasture mates as babies!), then 4th at the Bromont CCI*** the following June. In 2013 the pair were named to the Developing Riders list and completed their first CCI**** at Rolex.

Sue decided to give Chunky the opportunity to try his hoof at the upper levels with Hawley Bennett in the irons. He won the Galway CCI* in November 2010, and hasn’t looked back since. In October 2011 he was part of the Canadian Silver medal winning team at the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara Mexico.
